Last night by the fireplace, I asked my husband, “What is one thing that humans
can learn that would eradicate world hunger?” because I know he cares about
world hunger. “It would eradicate wars and the plastic overflow and
environmental depletion, too.”
He said, “What is one thing that we could learn? He added, “You know, I don’t
know because look at the way things are!” We then explored possible answers.
What do you think that one thing could be? We understand that these are
complex issues and believe that each one of us can be part of the solution.
Please share your answer, for your idea may inspire others. In the process, we can raise awareness about these issues that may be affecting your community,
country, or the world. And discover solutions that will transform these huge
challenges into great opportunities.
For me, that one thing is this. Becoming personally aware of how precious life is:
your life, life in other people, life in other species, and life on our planet. Because the moment you realize how precious your life truly is, and you realize how precious it is in others, you can’t take all their food and keep it to yourself.
You must share it! And you cannot go to war because you are going to feel love
and kindness towards others. And you cannot just throw chemicals and other
stuff into the environment to destroy everything because you feel for other
people and other species. You have empathy for others when you become
personally aware of how precious you are.
This is food for thought, as we walk together learning from the path and each
other how to take better care of ourselves and one another.
How are you going to become personally aware? Start on your path of awareness at the start of the coming year.
